Am I really that obtuse? What's the difference between favorite and best? Is there some objective criteria to "measure" the quality of music I haven't heard of? Isn't every "best of" list actually a "personal favorite" list? Honest question...

Well, if the title is best you'll get insulted and called an idiot by a bunch of people when you pick some band like Arcade Fire over some classic like Sabbath.
