See I expected someone to point out I listen to Bright Eyes, but pointing out I listen to emo? Mars Volta sounds more bitchy than Circle Takes the Square. Emo typically doesn't have annoyingly whiny or bitchy vocals.

Frances, seriously, if you think Circle Takes The Square or 90% of emo sounds bitchier than Mars Volta then you're mistaken.
Patronize Crowquil for Bright Eyes, not emo.
Besides, "Hurt" is better by Cash.

I think Johnny Cash does an awesome job! I like the original too though.

and I suppose I don't find TMV whiny, because I LOVE THEM. Like even though we think James Blunt is whiny, a fan doesn't hear it, they hear...... well I don't know what they hear but you get what I mean? I hear the whine in Emo 'cause I'm not that into it.

Being into someone has nothing to do with it, you have to be deaf to think Circle Takes the Square is whinier than the Mars Volta.

Word definitions aren't subjective though, you can say a pristine means dirty but it won't change the fact it means pure. Deep screaming about becoming god isn't going to sound as whiny as singing about a druggie. That isn't something that opinions can change.
