i would say that they are more overhyped than overrated. im not that big of a fan though.

Over rated: Pretty much any rap-rock and nu-metal was over rated in its time. Gorillaz, Neutral Milk Hotel is agreeable over hyped, Nirvana (decent band but didn't do as much as they get credit for), and NIN.
Under rated: Siege, Joy Division, Camel, The Birthmarks, pretty much any Mike Patton project can't be hyped enough, and Bongzilla. |
