Looking back on it, a lot of the 80's alternative bands from America feel underrated - to me they generally feel less out of date than their British counterparts (although this may have been because they became more popular during the 90s, a decade after the British indie scene).

I don't think ELO is exactly underrated but I do think they've been unfairly maligned over the years.

That's why Jason and the NASHVILLE Scorchers were only really legit on their first two EPs. After that Jeff Ringenberg kicked out whats-his-name who actually was about country and they became a lamer version of themselves.
