What are your weakness and strengths? (country, indie, pop, punk)

Usually people are weak in some area of music and strong in others, whether it be a certain genre or band members or telling what instruments are being played. What are your weakness and strengths?

I'll start
Strengths:
~knowing how different genres of music came to be
~Knowing basic facts (genres, influences, origin) about a good number of bands across a good number of genres
~Telling what instruments and time signatures are being used

Weaknesses:
~Knowing band members names
~Knowing song titles
~Country Music
~Indie Pop

Weakness-Giving a coherent and cohesive reasoning for the love of a band is a major weakness.

Using a band as an emotional crux, whilst shirking my own emotional responsibiltys.

Strength- hugely open minded and completely oblivious to passing fads and the fact that my son thinks I know nothing about music.

Weakness-Using music to express my emotional state.

Interesting. I haven't got any of your strengths. I don't think I have any strengths full stop, to be honest.

I can identify a lot of songs in a couple of seconds but so can most people. Uh... yeah, I don't know. I'm fine with song titles, band names and album titles and that's about it.

I think you are well on the way to achieving a mod status, even at this early stage. Very few posters have such a wide range and knowledgeable level of many genres of music.

You must dislike some music? I have'nt seen many posts in the Punk thread-have Ispotted a weakness?lol

Yeah, I'm really not up on punk. I know about Operation Ivy and that's it. They might not even count.

Strengths:

- I have a relatively good knowledge/idea of a lot of types of music. I don't listen to them all, but I know what to expect from something when told it's genre.
- I'm quite organized with all my music on my computer (which is funny, because I'm a mess with everything else, mostly)

Weaknesses:

- I tend to sometimes judge on musical taste, whether I can help it or not.
- I've been accused of music snobbery (even though I'm really not a music snob, despite my first point.)
- I can't play any instruments and I don't really have the patience to learn one.
- Fairly narrow taste.

-Not as adventurous in music as I'd like to be
-tendancy to pick up and instrament then put it down

Strength - Hugely massively open-minded and not fanboyish. Thus, I'm not an elitist and my ability to judge isn't impacted.
Weakness - Spend too much time listening to music due to above strength.

Strength - I'm good at debating/arguing. Relevant to music discussions.

Strength - I have 500 GB of music, so that means I don't just acquire the music I know I'd listen to regularly (like many people).

Weakness - Sometimes I don't give some albums the full attention they deserve because I'll be doing something else demanding at the same time (i.e. studying).
