I'm seriously f*cking obsessed with this album. Might be the best new wave album I've ever heard and I'm totally serious. I wouldn't call them obscure but they only put out this album and I'm sure a bunch of you have never heard it so do yourself a favor and do it.
Neapolitan has. He wrote about them in his journal.

Anecdotal evidence.

A man can only take so many Abacab reviews. 30+ is just excessive.

Actually, after a long hiatus, I've been re-discovering Iron Maiden.

I've been absorbing The Final Frontier for 3-4 days.

Anouar Brahem - Blue Maqams (2017)

Big gem I missed last year from master oud player Anour Brahem. He's an old hand at these Arabic-oriented, bass heavy world fusion affairs, but this one is particular good just because it has something resembling an old school Modal Jazz ensemble, with pianist Django Bates being a particular standout here. Just great late evening listening.

Scritti Politti - Cupid & Psyche 85 (1985)

One of those albums that can't escape the year of its creation sonically, but as a synth-pop experience its pretty much peerless. Smarter than the average bear songwriting-wise, meticulously mechanical sounding production aside.

Beans - Nights Without Smiles

Featuring saxophone work from Diamond Terrifier (Sam Hillmer of Zs), this is an excellent experimental hip hop EP. Hard to describe but it goes from dense to minimalist and both performers go all in.

clipping. - Splendor and Misery

Never really got into clipping. since they always felt like a rap a capella over power electronics with no real thought of how they relate. I thought that Wriggle had some cool tracks though. Threw this one on on a whim and was blown away by the concept and execution. Still noisy as **** but done it what feels like a much more mature way to me. Anyways, check it, it's about space slaves.
