If anything it feels a little more laid back than the intensity of a SFK album.... there's a little more stripping back in the sound, in some places jits just very simle accoustic guitar + vocals... which I've always loved with Dempsey. The album's closer is a definite highlight and a great high note on which to conclude an album....
Glad to hear you enjoyed it, you share my same feelings about it too. Much more laid back, much more of stripped down and heartfelt album. Not to say the SFK aren't heartfelt though!

This album, really most of this band's output, is so damn pretty it should be illegal.

I'm still a newbie so can't post covers....

The Dead Weather - Horehound
I've owned this album since December and on the first listen I kind of liked what I was hearing, but never really got into it. Over the past week, I decided to give it another try and I have to say it is a fantastic album, with solid tracks throughout.

The Kills - Midnight Boom
Seeing that I was in a Dead Weather mood, I decided to check out one of the related bands, The Kills. I have to say its very different to what I usually listen to but in a good way. Also, its great for both listening to individual tracks and as a whole album. It might prompt me to have a look further into the Indie Rock genre.

Weezer - Pinkerton
After listening to the Blue Album by Weezer, I decided to go buy Pinkerton. It turly is a great album with not a weak track on it. I'm not sure whether to go out and get any other Weezer albums seeing that the feeling is that they're pretty bad!

Roy - The White EP

Haven't played this or any other of the band's material in some years I think. The band features former Botch members Dave Verellen and Brian Cook (also of These Arms Are Snakes) as well as Harkonen frontman Ben Verellen. However, they don't play post-hardcore as you'd expect, they play honest Americana-influenced indie rock, and quite well on 2 EPs and first LP. Their second LP effort I didn't care for as much, and I don't think they're together any more, it's been 4 years since that one.
