No, he actually did help with some of the songwriting, people need to get off the 'its cool to hate Ringo' train and realize he did contribute, and even if he didn't who cares? Most drummers don't write songs.

I'd say that Ringo contributed far more to the music composition than drummers usually do.

Ringo was a good drummer. He was already a local celebrity before he even joined The Beatles.

Wow, you took my comments completely out of context. It seems to me your evidence pales in comparison to the evidence that they worked together on the songs that started Beatlemania.

really, what better evidence than John Lennon and Paul McCartneys own words are there, that they had ended their songwriting partnership before Beatlemania? After all, they are the parties in the partnership, they have no reason to lie about it, and yet they have claimed it was over.

They have also claimed that they didn't. So it's sort of up in the air. Personally I feel that their earlier work combined their later distinctive writing style.

"We wrote a lot of stuff together, one on one, eyeball to eyeball. Like in 'I Want To Hold Your Hand,' I remember when we got the chord that made the song. We were in Jane Asher's house, downstairs in the cellar playing on the piano at the same time. And we had, 'Oh you-u-u/ got that something...' And Paul hits this chord, and I turn to him and say, 'That's it!' I said, 'Do that again!' In those days, we really used to absolutely write like that—both playing into each other's noses."

There you go.

Well John and Paul said it themselves that they wrote more songs individually than they did as a team. I don't know why we're even debating this.
