Cannot. Find. Anywhere. Except for a few rapidshare links, which are good for nothing to me.

Try searching here;

FilesTube - Search for files on rapidshare and other download sites

^ If an album isn't there, it's generally not anywhere else. At least if you don't wanna use torrents anyway.

That's not true, sometimes links that are supposed to show up don't on filestube. Try [artist] [album] [site:blogspot.com], lots of people use blogspot to share music files. If that doesn't work try typing rapidshare, megaupload, mediafire, depositfiles, etc. along with the artist and album name instead. Torrents will also work just as long as the musician or band isn't completely obscure. You can usually find entire discographies through torrents as well.

Exactly - sometimes!

Just saying that filestube should always be the first port of call, as it's much less bother than using google. 9 times out of 10 it works too.

I'd say for me it works closer to 5 out of 10 for me, but that's probably just based on what I'm looking for specifically. The problem is someone actually has to send a link directly to filestube in order for it to be registered and findable through it's search engine. And sometimes even after you do that the link still won't show up. Personally I'd put more trust in blogspot or torrents.

What torrent site is the best? (also about torrents, is The Pirate Bay safe, because I heard that you could get a fake anti-virus program just from visiting the front page, and I don't want to deal with that crap again)

Piratebay is fine if you make sure your torrent is from a valued member, or if it at least has a couple of seeds (for more obscure stuff, it might not be incredibly seeded). You can check the rank of an uploader based on whether or not they have a purple-little symbol next to their name, or something. Just look to see if they've included track listings/descriptions, if there are comments. Anything that makes it seem like a legitimate torrent.

I'll get around to those things i was talking about earlier on the weekend, I don't have the time ATM.

I use piratebay all the time, never gotten a virus (although like the guy above said, double check comments for the torrent or even the user's profile just to be safe). Demonoid's pretty decent too, however they only let a limited number of people sign up to download their torrents.

piratebay is actually not safe at all, nor are most other public torrent trackers. it's far to easy for RIAA trolls to nab you for participating in the distribution of the latest leaked album...

for a bunch of music fans, sometimes you lot are just hopeless.

as for this Kate Bush album, 10 seconds of searching at Warez-BB found me working Rapidshare, Zshare and Megaupload links.

the original release is available at What.CD in 320, V2, V0, and FLAC, and there is also a FLAC rip a Japanese pressing of the album. What.CD is the largest music torrent site in the world. it is a private site, but you can interview for a spot.

i searched Waffles.FM (the second largest music site, also private) and found the album there as well, in several different bitrates.

all i could find at rutracker.org (a Russian general torrent site that is open for signups) is her complete discography in FLAC.

hell, the album is even available at Demonoid, a pseudo-private general torrent tracker which i have several invites for - just ask me nicely.

music is not hard to find. you just have to look in the right place

I never had any viruses in music while downloading torrents.
I did have some viruses in software. But then my virus killer always was on time, so far.

I've been at this for years and never encountered a problem with torrents either, though I do have pretty good anti-virus programs installed. I can see noise's point about downloading newer albums from piratebay though. I would just be more cautious around more current records.

I've found great things at rutracker.org as well and they offer similar to what torrents offer, except I think you can find more flac downloads there.
