Yeah Rush are okay I guess, I was just making a point. But yeah, the majority of their stuff bores me because it doesn't really progress all that much.

The problem is that he cant get his mind off of dream theater. which would be alright, if he didnt start arguments about them being the "best prog band in the world" in every thread in the rock and metal forum.

going by what you said.. maybe the fact that rush are one of dream theaters major influences allows for all the hatred of dream theater being referred to as a "great prog band". i mean, i really dont know...because i dont listen to all that much dream theater...but it seems to me that i just connected the dots. with what boo boo just said.

im really not trying to stand against you here, but there has been a dream theater argument in the last two threads that ive looked at. it does get old...

If by 'real emo' you mean stuff like Husker Du and Rites Of Spring, I've heard them. They're not nearly as bad as the new 'emo', but they're still not great (in my opinion). By 'pop-punk', I mean bands like Blink 182, Lagwagon, NOFX, etc.
