hahaha that's almost like saying that jimi hendrix couldn't play the guitar. you might not like their music but you can't deny they're hell of musicians!

I think if I could only ever have on Radiohead Album, I'd choose OK Computer. I love all of their albums, but as an album I love every single song on it, and I've been listening to it for pretty much as long as I've been truly aware of music, so there's a sort of emotional connection to it as well. there's something incredibly calming for me about that opening riff of Airbag

Kid A for me all the way. "How To Disappear Completely," my theme song. Love Amnesiac, OKC and Thief, too, though. In Rainbows has it's good moments, too.

does that mean you're not a big fan of The Bends or Pablo Honey, then, by omission?

Yep. Don't really like anything they did before OKC. Couldn't stand Thom Yorke in their early days. Complete tosser. I saw them live at the Palladium in LA, touring for Pablo Honey, with PJ Harvey and Moonshake opening. The only reason I went is because I was interviewing Moonshake and I had a comped ticket to the show. Radiohead were awful. They engaged in nearly every big arena rock and 'indie' band cliche in the book. I guess they had to get all that out of their system before they became a decent band.

Hmmm, interesting. Needless to say, I do like both, though Pablo Honey much less than their other albums, and The Bends is more of an album I return to than one I listen to regularly.

pablo honey I really have to be in the mood for honestly

and The Bends as I've said before is my favorite work they have ever done, but thats mainly because it has so many of my favorite songs, Fake Plastic Trees and Street Spirit are two of the best in my opinion

If I were to choose songs from The Bends, I'd probably choose tracks like Just, Black Star and Planet Telex. I think the more contemplative stuff is done better on other albums, like Kid A and Amnesiac.

well it seems that on the bends they were still young and the contemplative stuff seemed more, fresh faced and more like powerful, honestly even though I don't mean it like this but its the only word I can come up with almost adolescent emotions

and when i got into their music I was 16 (I'm almost 18 atm) and thats what I related to so I'm biased

though i will agree that Let Down, House of Cards, Nude, and Exit Music (For a Film) seem to be better songs overall in my opinion

but as a full album, The Bends appeals to me more because I think its the most varied,

though OK computer is my second favorite followed by In Rainbows even though I love every album so much that its hard for me to say any favorites

(and apparently I'm one of the very few people on this forum thats a huge fan of in rainbows)
