How about a serious reply?
If you want some laid back Rap try De La Soul or the Fugees. The other bands are difficult 'cos, well, i don't like them. Try... Radiohead Brendan Benson Eels Modest Mouse Beck Mostly all american and can have quite anthemic songs, which was a trend in the bands you put down...

He asked for bands like Linkin Park, you give him De La Soul and the Fugees. Huh? He asked for bands like The Fray. You give him: Radiohead (??), Modest Mouse, Beck. Are you out of your mind? Keane and Thirteen Senses is more like it. Actually I'll do you one better. Try out either: Denver Harbor, Moses Mayfield, Cary Brothers, Augustana, Third Eye Blind, Making April And hmm, you'd probably like Coldplay too. |

The bands you recommended are crap though.
If you read the post he said he liked laid back rap sometimes, therefore the De la. Radiohead and Modest Mouse write anthemic pop songs much like The Fray do, so theres something catchy he would like there, expect they stretch out into different genres, thus expanding his taste. Beck meanwhile just writes catchy songs, and can also be put into the laid back rap bit, kinda-ish. So whats your problem?
