Too much music to just pick out a select few songs. But bands that are real pick me ups for me are The Who, Yes, The Beatles, P-Funk, Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, funky RHCP, Super Furry Animals, Blur, Ramones and without a shadow of the doubt, Queen.

You know I just covered something similar to this on the progarchives.

You don't like The Wall? Then its no surprise then that I love that album.

I hate it that when it comes to Pink Floyd the same words are always thrown around.

Bloated
Pompous
Pretentious
Self Ingulgent

I f*cking hate the way these words are used and I just wish they didn't even exist.

These words for the most part have no real meaning. Because with all art, artists are tempted to indulge themselves. And frankly I don't even see what the ****ing problem with that is.

No no its just an excuse people use. I think Chuck Klosterman said it very well about how random peoples taste in music is. You hate one thing but you love other music that has many of the same elements. So people try to make up words and throw it around to describe only music they don't like.

These words seriously need to die, because they don't describe the music at all. And they're words that could be used to describe anything.

Even Gilmour said the wall lacked soul.

I think he was just bitter because of Waters giving him little to no creative control.

Amen to that; Animals, The Wall, and especially The Final Cut were extremely Roger Waters exclusive.
