was going through some info on Manic Street Preachers and found out that Richey Edwards was warded the same time as me in Whitchurch Psychiatric Hospital in Cardiff, Wales on July 1994

i only now realised weird suicidal dude calling himself "Richard" was him - i didn't see whether the words "4 Real" was on his arm

he didn't tell me who he was

i was there for five days with him - we shot pool, discussed sociology, he kept harping on the fact some guy raped him, was extremely interested in a music magazine i brought to the ward so i donated it to him, asked his skanky ho of a girlfriend to give me a deep kiss - she tasted of cigarettes - none of the bandmates visited him - if they did, i'd knew it was him

he was admitted to a private hospital after trying to remove the sutures from his wounds

when i went back to Malaysia in 1995, they found his car at the end of Severn Bridge - went missing until finally declared dead in 2008

edit :- now that I think about it, there was one early morning, at about 2-3 a.m., "Richard" was freaking out on his bed, and I was in semi-sleep and there were 3-4 people around his bed trying to calm him down - maybe they were the rest of the Manics

I was fortunate to have the trombone player from Bad Manners as my music teacher at school, top guy as well was really supportive of my music!
