Default Grammys

I forgot to post this earlier, but did anyone catch the Grammys? And if you did then what did you think of it? I have to say that personally I didn't watch it and I only read a brief thing about it after the fact. I heard like Beyonce won the most Grammys or something like that.

Like you i dont watch this sort of thing.I have no interest what so ever.I fail to see why the industry feels the conatant need to pat itself on the back.

If it's about recognition then they should take more heart from their record sales!!
Waste of time and money!

I feel that it's good that they are honoring some of the people that make the record industry so much money, but a lot of great artists get left out and that pisses me off. You basically have to be mainstream to do well at the Grammys and that's not right. You should only have to be a talented musician to get recognized.

So its only to honour the money makers. What a shame they insist on saying it's about the music then.

Here's a thought; let's stop labeling music and fighting over what genre a certain band is, and start listening to whatever pleases our ears no matter what anyone thinks of it! ;)

I saw a little bit of it, actually I only saw Andre's acceptance speech and 50 Cent coming up during Evanesense winning best new artist. Gold.

^ dude lighten up and don't be such an @ss. by the way, this thread is 9 months old, why would you go searching through pages and pages of threads to find one that would allow you to insult people?

I use to watch them regiliously back in the 70's and 80's, now its no big deal. If I do I just flip through it and channel surf. The shows are so fake and edited and ridiculous that I don't even care anymore. I mean there is not even too many new band/groups or artists that are coming out now that are fresh sounding or original. Well I don't mean that there is none, cause that would be a lie, there is some good stuff like velvet revolver, shinedown etc. When I hear something on the radio or see it in print I might check them out and of course there is always the good old standards like the stones, beatles, zepplin, guns and roses, metallica, kiss, areosmith, etc. The awards shows are rather boring, I'd rather put on a cd or grab a book to read and forget about them all together now.
