I find Dio's era with Sabbath to be overrated. I personally prefer Tony Martin's lyrics and vocals with the band, but saying that Mob Rules is a fantastic record and Dehumanizer features some of my favourite Sabbath tracks, although i think Heaven and Hell is one of Sabbath's worst efforts. Apart from a few gems "Heaven and Hell" "Lady Evil" the album is dull and lacklustre. Ozzy's solo career produced some epic songs but as an album artist he lacks consistency. So i'll go with Dio era Sabbath

Why is this not a poll between Sabbath (Ozzy) and Sabbath (Dio), I think that'd conjur up some better discussion.

I agree with that. But it's a battle that's been fought so many times. Perhaps this thread will add a new angle.

But solo Ozzy and Dio in Sabbath are two completely different things, I guess some discussion could come of that, but if the OP is looking for a comparison type of discussion, not a lot will happen.

I suppose from a competitive angle it's quite important. Because Solo Ozzy and Dio Sabbath basically documents the gradual rise of Ozzy into immortal superstardom and the gradual fall of Sabbath from their peak of popularity.

Blizzard of Ozz blows anything i've heard by Sabbath out of the water.
