Howdy, I'm new to this forum and just wanted to give everybody a heads up on the summer and see what everybody is into. I know this is a classical rock section, but I think that genre fits into my scene as.
I'm over in the Pacific NW, in Portland. It rains like a bastard out here; so the winters are pretty crappy. The only way find myself getting through them is to look forward to the summer. There an only then, is when I start my festival tour. So here's the heads up on a new show, called Shakedown. I'll link it at the end of this post. Is anybody in here going to any other like minded fests? Did any of you hit the Bonnaroo? The lineup for the shakedown goes like this......Michael Franti and Spearhead, Galactic, Medeski, Martin & Wood, Hydra featuring Mickey Hart & Particle, Soulive, Sage Francis, DJ Logic, Robert Walter's Super Heavy Organ, Skerik’s Syncopated Taint, Jerry Joseph and the Jackmormons, Benevento Russo Duo, The Big Wu, Global Funk, Green Lemon, Flowmotion, Big Island Shindig, “BIG E” (Eric Scheiterman) of Asbury Park, & Stevi Marie. It's all happening at the end of the summer too. Check out the venue site as well, as there’s other stuff going on there too. NWSS is to start next week. http://www.shakedownfest.com/ http://www.horningshideout.com/default.php |
