Default Does music taste affect dating?

Surprised a thread like this never showed up, so I'll make one now.

Would you consider dating someone if they had the opposite music taste?
How similar would you like it to be?
If you're already in a relationship, how is it working out for you?
For me, I'd much rather they have similar taste in music than opposite. I'm rather defined on what I like and I wouldn't be too fond of rap, country, or pop (with a few exceptions).

I couldn't take a chick seriously if I hear gangster rap blaring out of her car.
If she's hot, I'll be DTF, but that's about the extent of the relationship.
If she's into metal, oh that'd be bomb. On top of that, the same type of metal, but really I'm not picky cause there's not much wrong you can go with music with electric guitars and screams. Hair metal is problematic, albeit it's closer to rock. I'd take her to concerts, share music and discuss music all day.

I don't even care what the girl says let alone what her interests are. I just nod and agree till she takes her clothes off.

I couldn't.

I'm so lucky that my significant other isn't put off by my obsession with Marc Bolan, and that he was actually the one who helped me when I wanted to see Sparks in Seattle. I'm so lucky (I really am) that he accepts me for the creepy fangirling piece of weirdness that I am.

I don't care.. almost every girl ive dated has had awful music taste and that never got in the way.

ideally ofc i would like them to have a similar taste as mine but it's not something i demand.

Casual dating to get sweaty? Why not.

Serious relationship or marriage? No.

Just ask him to keep his hat on and everything will be ok.

my 2nd fiance was into Aqua and Basshunter.

He was literally only good in bed.

And he had a great smile.

Other than that I wanted to punt his ass into an active volcano.
