Default Love or Hate?

This has been a runaway success and I plan to keep it going as long as I can. After my long absence there have been a few significant changes so please check the rules below. The general idea is for members to recommend (or rec) me an album you think I may like, or indeed hate, and I'll have a listen to it and let you know what my decision is. Any genre is acceptable, though I'm trying to keep it mixed up well so try to avoid recommending a genre or subgenre that has been recently recced already. Recs are only acceptable when the door graphic below is open; when I am not taking submissions a closed door will replace that.

Recs are now closed . Please do not submit albums as they will be ignored. I will advise when the next cycle opens, but it will not be for a while.

The new Love or Hate? v. 2.0 Rules (Updated December 3 2016)

Spoiler for Read the rules before you suggest an album. Thanks.:

ALBUMS

1. You can suggest any album from any artiste or genre but it has to be an album, if not an artiste, I have not previously heard. Also, please do not rec something you know I'll Hate, just for the fun. At least if you do this, don't be so stupid as to gloat about it in the thread, as I'll just delete your rec.

2. Albums I rate as Love will be marked in Green, those I Hate in Red, while those I either can't decide on or that don't impress me sufficiently will be rated Meh, and marked in White. NEW! Anything I like but don't necessarily love will be marked in Orange and rated as a Like, and as you know albums that blow me away will be marked in Blue, and rated as True Love.

3. All recs must be available to me. If it isn't in Spotify or YouTube (the full thing; I'm not going after single tracks) then you need to provide a link. This needs to be done (if necessary) before I select the album, as if I find it's hard to find and have to go asking you for a link, your rec will be moved down the list.

4. Albums already reviewed will be shown in their appropriate colour, depending on how I reacted to them. Albums not yet reviewed will be in black. Those I have listened to, but not yet reviewed, will be shown in pale yellow.

5. I am trying to provide links to each review but it's a big job and getting bigger every day, so I might just end up doing an index

6. Recs are only acceptable during the cycle when submissions are open. Once they close, that's it till the next time. If you don't want to miss out, keep checking the thread or subscribe. Note: if you attempt to rec albums outside of a rec cycle, whether in thread or by PM, they will NOT be accepted and they will NOT be returned to when the cycle begins. You will have to resubmit them when recs reopen. For me, until then, they may as well not have been posted. Please don't try to gazump the process as you will not succeed.

7. Please do not take it personally if I Hate one of your recs. If you can't handle a negative opinion please do not suggest that album. Any genuinely snarky or insulting comments will result in firstly, your recs being moved to the end of the queue. Should you persist in this behaviour, further recs from you will not be accepted, and any you have submitted will be removed from the queue. Play nice, or don't play at all.

8. Each member who recs an album must wait until four more members have recd before submitting another. This is to stop certain members monopolising the selection.

9. Recs will no longer be reviewed in order, but at random. I will probably do one a week, though that may change depending on my workload. The album selected - and only that one - will appear in the "Up Next" position until it has been reviewed and rated. At the moment, Wednesday has been chosen as the day the review(s) will be published.

10. No live albums, no double albums if possible, no boxsets and nothing over two hours long

11. In general, if I get a rec for an artiste I really don't want another, from that member or from another. This is all about listening to new music, not the discography of a few artistes.

12. It's not a rule, but I'm kind of thinking of keeping submissions of members' own albums to a minimum. It's hard to review these fairly under this format. If you want your album reviewed there is Trollheart's Showroom, so just let me know and I can include it in that. I'm not saying I won't review personal albums, but I think I'd prefer not to, for the most part. If you can make a good enough case for yours, then be my guest and try to convince me.

The Big List

I finally got around to creating a full, alphabetical linked index. It's obviously going to be too big to insert here, so I'll split it into any of the other posts on this page that I can. Those posts may have a comment on them. Can't help that.

Note: These are all alphabeticised acording to the artiste, then the albums. None are coloured, as that would have really pushed the character count up, so you can tell those which are not yet reviewed simply by the fact that they are not yet linked*. I spent a lot of time on this but I could have missed something so if anyone spots a mistake, album rec credited to the wrong person or whatever, just shout.

* As yet, unreviewed albums have not been added. I'm working on it.

JoJo - #LoveJo (2014)

I really like it personally. Contemporary Pop/R&B EP by the all grown up teen sensation. She covers Phil Collins and, from what I gather, you're a fan.

That's a terrible thing to say about anyone! Nah, I like his first few albums but once "Sussudio" hit the airwaves I basically disowned him.

lmao we're gonna have him listen to Kendrick?

If I couldn't even get him to go past track 2 on Nujabes which is far less...hip-hop-y, then we sure as hell won't see him finishing TPAB
