Totally agreed.

I would say that he most definitely has a working knowledge of song structure, harmony, and melody, but he doesn't know how to use it well.

Eh, Ocean Machine is a classic by any reasonable standard. Even Devin's haters at least appreciate what its going for, especially since it was conceived right around the time SYL was really taking off.

So much negativity around here though...sheesh.

Writing my review a little bit later. I listened to the Old album on Thursday. Just busy at this workshop retreat weekend thing.
