Well, ignoring the obscure bands which people haven't heard of... probably Robbie Williams and the Eagles.

I wouldn't say no-one likes them, but no-one my age does.

I have to say I'm very shocked that you like Robbie Williams. I own a Simply Red album though, so I have no defence.

I think it's a general problem these days caused by the fact that the most recent brands of highly commercialized over-produced pop dominate the charts and the airwaves SO much, that most people have no regular medium of naturally hearing anything beyond that without having to seek.
I'm in the same situation and I agree with your second paragraph, but in my case my friends are comfortable enough in their music taste, be it ultra-technical-but-souless stuff like Vai or absolute garbage like Enter Shikari. I go to the vast majority of gigs alone and talk to the people there about music instead.

So I could mention random bands like Grails, Entombed, World's End Girlfriend, Codeine, which none of my friends like.

Your mates are idiots then. Regardless of their latest output providing MB with pages and pages of banter, RHCP have contributed to music and have at least provided many fans with some of the best live gigs over the past 15-20 years.

Default The Used

The Used

Everyone hates them simply cuz of their name.

They claim that there "emo" yet they dont have a genre because they make so many diff types of songs and there songs arent about being sad and girls

there incredibly creative and bert(the lead singer) has a voice like no other
