Default Nation of Ulysses

One of the reasons I'm making this thread is just so I can see Urban's username as the last person who's posted in the emo forum, but the main resason is because they're a pretty great band. To me they're more post-hardcore than emo though almost everything I read calls them emo. And it would be hard to believe if Fugazi and them influenced each other. Well I hear it and they were on MacKaye's label. 13 Point Program favorite album and they're one of my favorite DC bands. Some of the members have also been in a couple other bands The Make-Up, Weird War, Scene Creamers, David Candy and Cupid Car Club. I don't know if any are any good but I'm gonna check them out.

I love this thread

The Nation of Ulysses is what happens when you get a white guy who thinks he`s James Brown fronting a punk band.

From what i`ve read in the past I got the impression that Svenonius & MacKaye hated each other guts or had a massive falling out .They`ve said some pretty uncomplimentary things about Dischord in the past , which is probably why they signed to K Records.

Cupid Car Club only ever made one 7" single , and i`ve never heard it

I forgot to say I love Svenonious's vocals. They are awesome and probably my favorite thing about them. I've heard bad things about both Ians but I don't really care because I love of their music.

The Nation of Ulysses are one of the best bands that's been on Dischord, easy. Channel One Ulysses is one of my favorite songs of all time. The Make Up are good too, and so are French Toast.

Lots of people say that the Refused ripped this band, and I have to say I agree. They certainly got lots of their ideas from NoU, anyway.
