I don't know how I forgot about them, since they are one of my favorite bands, but Stand Before The Firing Squad's "Noise Machine" is one of the best avant grind albums out there.

why the hell are impending doom, jfac, and abacabb being dropped in a "nu-grind" thread

Great point, Lt. Semantics. A prefix, in this case "nu-", implying that these are bands of a new generation. Why wouldn't I throw in some trendy Deathcore bands like JFAC and Impending Doom? They're heavily influenced by grind and brutal death metal, and but of course, are of a "nu" wave.
