Well this whole thread has pretyt much been wrong simpleplan,GC etc.. are pop rock i really dont think you can clump the really poppy ataris into punk at all.Punk has nothing to do with half the bands thrice mentioned as stated before but whatever....

I half agree, Blink 182 sing about anything and just apply the punk sound and feel. Simple Plan IMO is emo because - from what I have heard, because all the singer does is whine about how ... well...

Thats from the "Welcome To My Life" song. To me that is what makes them Emo. Plus the appearance of all the band members lol, but that has less to do with it.

That is one of the worst songs ever written. I hate it so much. But its not emo. Its pop, with guitars and a drumkit. And black clothes.

& I think Thrice is the most horrible band ever.

Now for the facts.
None of them bands are emo or punk.
They're all pop punk.

Emo doesn't stand for "emotional" music.
It was the name given to bands that played emotional "hardcore"
In no way are any of those bands hardcore, nor anything close to emocore/screamo.

Not to mention, emocore and screamo are both being classified wrong by the mainstream.

Btw, remember me, Thrice?

Over nothing aswel. Thrice hasnt even been here in ages, and probably wont come back for months, if he does ever. Just leave this guy be, he might not even do anything once he realises Thrice isnt here anymore. If he's got half a brain, anyway.
