I find most people who don't like them think the vocals are too harsh or obnoxious, and the cure for this is to give them "The Argument."
I love their earlier albums for the guitar work, but The Argument seems to have the best atmosphere and individual songs to me. |

That's off their "13 Songs" LP, probably their best. I'm pretty sure you can't classify them as emo, post punk or alternative. I think if you asked Ian he'd just say "angry music".
