emo isnt necessarily punk, i know ill be shunned for this. however, emo is a broad range of music, a very broad one actually. it can come from, and is more mainstream in the punk/rock genre. however it can be found in R&B and rap, sad as it is, music from usher, tupac and immortal technique have found a way to incorperate emotion into their music, thus making them emo.
a lot of people will say emo is a genre specific to punk/rock but i dont think it is, i think its a genre specific to artists who show their true emotions. |
