I don't know much about old emo - well perhaps I do and just don't know it, as I don't buy into labels so much either. Its all about the music baby. But keep them coming folks, I love hearing new music and am loving these recommedations.

Joy Division is really good. they are more goth though.

Oh, i love Joy division, not goth at all, post-punk I think is more how I'd describe them. I tried to look for Black Eyes and all I found was a variety of spellings of Black Eyes Peas... *shudder*

Sounds like an uber-emo version of bright eyes!! What they like?

first off. black eyes blows bright eyes away. and bright eyes is not emo.

joy division is goth. when they first started playing in the 70's, thats what goth was and thats what it should be still. goth is not marilyn manson. goth is joy division, sisters of mercy, the banshees, and even the cure. black eyes is an experimental post-punk type band with two drummers. they have many vocalists and they are truely a great band. more people should check them out.

Thats exactly right...its about the music..just because someone says its "COOL" doesn't mean you have to think it is...thats why I hate music shows..
