You all are ignorant, not retarded. A synonym of whiny guitar rock is softcore emo..losers. And by the way, dashboard confessional is the worst emo band because Chris Carraba cries so much. I even have a little respect for screamo bands like underoath..but none for Dashboard.

Im glad someone is smart enough to know dashboard IS in fact emo. BUT, I still like them. Although it is sad, it is really poetic, and I like how its mostly accoustic.

Dashborad confessional is terrible. He wines the whole time in all of his music. Who the hell likes that bull****. Suck it up.

lol. I'd agree with that except that you find sad music that whines in just about every genre. jars of clay has alot of whiney stuff and alot of happy stuff. dave mathews whines sometimes. even the beach boys whine sometimes. even though I think people crying about everything is the most annoying, retarded, dumb*** thing in the world, you can't just not listen to music if it whines. The only reason I like dashboard at all is because they're lyrics are so poetic (in my own mind) and their music is somewhat soothing. I feel the same way about coldplay. I'll bash screamo to no end not only because its crying about everything but also because I think it sounds retarded. I like dashboard, despite their whiney nature. I don't know if that makes any sense, but thats where I'm coming from.

First of all there is no crying in Screamo. You have no clue what you're talking about. If there was crying in screamo you would be the last person to know about it anyway.
