Dr. Prunk

I love Kevin Shields' approach to guitar.
A major element of his technique is his use of extended tremalo arms (which he made by breaking them in half, putting an extra piece between the two broken pieces and then taping them together) which he uses almost constantly as he strums, creating an ethereal vibrato effect, which combined with a lot of reverb and sustain creates that trademark "dreamy" sound, and one of the coolest guitar sounds ever. They need to make guitars specifically for that method of playing, with longer wammy bars so you can use them simultaneously while strumming. It can be called "The Glider". Surprised no one ever thought of that before. Last edited by boo boo : 07-19-2007 at 08:30 AM. |

ok, im listening to the ones i d/l from your upload and feeling a little bland. perhaps it just needs another listen through... often albums that take a couple of listens to like are the ones that you enjoy for longer.
