Default NME top 10 British albums of all time.

1. The Stone Roses 'The Stone Roses'
2. The Smiths 'The Queen Is Dead'
3. Oasis 'Definitely Maybe'
4. Sex Pistols 'Never Mind The Bollocks'
5. Arctic Monkeys 'Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not'
6. Blur 'Modern Life Is Rubbish'
7. Pulp 'Different Class'
8. The Clash 'London Calling'
9. The Beatles 'Revolver'
10. The Libertines 'Up The Bracket

What do people think of this list?

personally, im happy both the libertines and arctic monkey's album are included, they are two important contemporary british bands like them or not. numbers 1 and 2 i agree with, both exceptional. number 3, hmm, lets just say i prefer whats the story...

I think it's yet more proof if proof were needed that the NME and its readership have the individual thought processes of a mayfly. Absolute shíte.

Considering two years ago 'OK Computer' was apparently the greatest record ever released, and now it can't get into a top ten which includes Pete Fúcking Doherty? Too right it wouldn't go amiss.

i do agree with you, though i agree with number 1 and 2, and though i personally am happy to see the monkeys and libs there, im not sure they SHOULD be there. it is heavily over-populated by bands from the brit-pop era.

No Zeppelin, no Sabbath, no Who, no Kinks.

It's only missing Franz Ferdinand and they'd have the complete set of recent NME hype machines.

What a remarkably bizarre statement.

Last I checked every Scottish person I know gets offended when I refer to them as British. But you're from Britain, so I guess you know best.
