I'm too upset over their slaughtering of Exit Music (for a Film) to listen to anything else they've done =|

Is there any pop music you actually like?

Blame Crowquill for that, he got me started on doing the silly things in life

Just because it's part of this "indie-pop rehash thing that's going on" does not make it derivative. They've done their own thing within that framework which distinguishes them and makes them worth talking about.

they mainly sound like 80's talking heads to me! but god forbid I should name any new ones...people make me listen to all kinds of new bands and I never remember the names...the arrangements all seem so familiar...
Let's just say if I hadn't heard anything like this before I would be alot more surprised!
Having acquired the album since last post, I can see why they have blown up, they are lovely lovely lovely.
It's so bloody subjective. I do enjoy the album, but it's just too relentlessly fluffy to get massively excited about.
You're right though, they do muck around with the formula abit and I think the key to this is the production. Again, it's just very warm and reassuring. Could have been written for the iPod generation.

Saw them perform on SNL this weekend. Thought they were extremely uninteresting, Yet that always seems to be the case lately with whatever the new hyped band happens to be.
