proggy man, no matter what I dislike about Radiohead, I respect that you like them and that is okay by me. I just think their music blows. When I think creative I think stuff like Captain Beefheart or later Frank Zappa. Radiohead just doesn't do it for me dude. Nothing tangible. I think it might also be because I really loved Pablo Honey when it came out. I used to steal the cd from my sister as much as possible. So when The Bends came out we bought it and sat there in the car with a "What the ****?" expression on our faces. And you will find that most people who were fans from the beginning feel this same way. To this day, she still listens to that album and so do I. But being products of the whole Nirvana/Smashing Pumpkins/Mudhoney era, we just weren't able to like what they became. And as I got older I tried to give their later stuff a listen. But it just never did anything for me.

In fact, when the new GTA game came out, I thought the song from the commercial was Radiohead and I was like, WOW! but then I realized it was the Greenskeepers.

Aside from Radiohead though, I am a huge fan of Johnny Greenwood's score on There Will Be Blood. He was basically robbed at the Oscars.

Of course they don't sound the same, but I'm obviously referring to certain artists. Which Kid A sound like.

Which ones? Also I'm interested to see your response to Urban.

They also ended up making an album that is better than 99% of the material on that label as well.

Just out of interest how many other bands were mixing rock with IDM , free jazz & piano ballads in 2000/2001?
Radiohead certainly wasn't. Just curious, what songs mix those genres together? I'm not hearing it.

Ironically the members of the band hate this song... They won't even play it live.

They've started playing it again, actually they've been playing it since like 2000. The whole never play it again thing was kind of exaggerated they were just sick of playing it and didn't do it for a long time.

this is where you should've stopped posting in this thread. Absolute nonsense, never mind the garbage you posted after this.

We were discussing Kid A, but yah the National Anthem and Life In a Glass House are both pretty original.

Um, he specifically stated 2000/2001. Kid A came out in 2000, Amnesiac in 2001. So no we weren't discussing just Kid A.

Now let's be fair he didn't say he listened to them, just owned them.
