i usually check pitchfork and metacritic. but a decent amount of the time i dont agree w/ pitchfork. what are your favorite sites to check out critics opinions. dont tell me rollingstone.com

Exactly. Pitchfork media (rolling stones for indie) comes behind both allmusic and forums. Festival forums are decent since they have a decent amount of regulars along with a whole lot more people 3 months before and 1 month after the festival.

Allmusic is GREAT for anything released before 2000. Alot of my favorite record of the past 8 years are all over the boards when It comes to their rating system. As far as anything else its top notch (Although I still feel its criminal that 'In The Aeroplane Over the Sea' isnt a 5 star album).
I usually check pitchfork. Another good one is tinymixtapes.com. They do reviews and news really silly-like. |
