Default The Mike Gunn

Ok i searched and there's not even a single post about this band. well, i'm here to rectify that.

Late 80s/early 90s experimental psychedelia that emerged from the splitup of Houston locals Schlong Weasel. Sounds like a bastardization of what stoner rock should have been, immense and to the point. The vocals sound like Lou Reed meets J. Mascis meets someone else who probably did a lot of drugs.

i only have one album (Almaron, pictured) but i swear at first listen it's some of the best psych i've heard. oh and here's a pic to keep you guys satiated.

If part of description of this requires adding even more drugs to the Loud Reed and J. Mascis combo then it definitely sounds like something I need to hear. Care to help me out?

Yep, this band is sweet as fuck. I've got Coduh, pretty intense the whole way through. One of my favourite 80's-early 90's garage-psych bands America seemed to spawn in adundance.

By the way, have checked out Viv and Medusa Cyclone yet Sam? I think Medusa S/T is probably my favourite of the lot. Fuck it, i'll start another thread.

I went to high school with John Cramer AND Mike Gunn. John is also an incredible artist. All time favorite song is "A Song About Horses." Ah, misspent youth. So many great times at their rehearsals at The Lakehouse.
