Graham Coxons debut is a really cool alternative album too, has a slight blur sound to it but then he was the brains behind them for about 11 years.

Well most of the other 4 range from being hit & miss to total crap (Crow Sit On Blood Tree being the best example of crap)
His latest one is the first one where you get the impression he`s taking it seriously.

Was that only 2004? I thought they were an older band, I only recently got into them. That shoulda been in my top 10 as well.

Slightly off-topic... they're touring now!! Woop.

The sad thing was most of the albums I was looking forward to this year weren`t very good.

Yes I mean you Gomez , Clinic , Ed Harcourt , Beastie Boys , Charlatans , Badly Drawn Boy , Ian Brown , The Thrills , REM , Prodigy

I personally liked Clinic's album, but I agree with Thrills, Gomez, and Badly Drawn Boy- disappointing.

Badly Drawn Boy has been disappointing since Bewilderbeast. That was the most beautifully composed album I'd heard in ages. I wasn't expecting much from the Thrills anyway, but I agree with Gomez, Ian Brown, REM, Ed, Prodigy and Charlatans. I liked Beasties and Clinic's albums though.

The problem I had with the Clinic album was there was no progression like there was from the first 2 albums. It sounded like the same song 12 times to me.

And the Beastie Boys album wasn`t so much bad , more totally forgettable
