Pretty sure it's just you. They're a band who's sound I strongly associated with american indie rock like Dinosaur Jr., Pixies, Pavement etc.

Lol, it must be because they only music I have been listening to lately are british bands (the who, zeppelin, yes, bowie, floyd, rush (lol not british but same queen), and ELO).

I guess i just kind of got used to the music being british...w/e

yeah MM definitely do not sound british. and I don't mean just their accents; they just don't have that UK sound

I take this personally.

I'd say Modest Mouse sound veeeery american, although Marr's riffs make them sound a little less than they did previously.

Every time I listen to them I imagine them playing in some London bar...idk maybe it's just me.

I know, I get that feeling too, but they are from Seattle... it's weird how their music sounds so diffrendt from what it really is.

They're from Issaquah, not every band from Washington is from Seattle.

See my problem is this. I know nothing of Modest Mouse at all and the first (and only) of their albums I got was the mediocre "We Were Dead Before The Ship Sank" last year. I fear that has forever tainted my feelings towards them, though at the same time I'm sure they're as great as everybody says... :/

that album was still good, though.... "Invisible" is one of the best songs they've ever written, imo
