I'm not entirely sure what this thread was intended for but I'm not about to make another one so . . .

I've recently gotten into some brazilian Hip Hop and I like the group Black Alien & Speed. Theya ren't making music anymore or at least i don't think they are. They mother f*cking rock though.

I'm a fan of samba and pagode but I don't really know the difference between the two. When I think of samba I guess I think of older sounding stuff and pagode being more current stuff. What is the difference?

I'm not sure however there is a whole other kind of samba to that is percusssion music that I really dig. Not at all like the jobim stuff.

I love the music of the film "Orpheo Negro" also my favourtive movie.

I sense that this thread isn't geared towards brazilian musicians but rather sounds or or music native to brazil.

In which case, I like samba only because I like pagode which originates from samba music.
