Look I dont know what your problem is. I came on here making an innocent introduction, I was kind enough to state all my band interests to make it easier. I was told by a 16 year old then that because I like Greenday I needed to be guided by him on what music to listen to. Now dont you find that a little patronising?

I play instruments, I have been listening to music and been involved in music for ten years at least and when I get told that I am not to like a certain band and my taste should be changed, dont you think I am going to have some sort of negative reaction?

I didn't want to argie and I may have been a little aggresive but I hope you can understand at least where I am coming from ok?

trust me....Unitedbyrock....

by the names of the bands you listed....you dont listen to half as much music as RAR, and therefore..he knows more about music than you. thats not necessarily a bad thing, because you can learn from him. and if you think that because he is 16, you should immediately know more about music than him.....well...i think that makes you the elitist.

Seriously? That is not all the bands I like, that is just a few, as I have stated. Honestly you do underest my music knowledge. 'you have to know people a little better before you judge them.' also applies to me too.

All I am saying is I like Greenday. If people dont like them then fine BUT it doesn't mean I know nothing about music because I like them does it?

You are assuming that a 16 year-old knows very little about music, that's so ignorant! The bands you listed are so typical, I didn't see one band that wasn't mainstream or well known.

You must be having a senior moment. You certainly havn't justified how you know more about music.

You don't come onto forums and start getting smart with respect members just because they are 16!

do you realize that almost all of your posts are either in this thread or the "music banter dream team" thread. thats.....almost 50 posts..

maybe if you would shut up and contribute something to the forum, people would realize that you have a more extensive knowledge of music....and they would get off your back.

Because a bloke has heard of a band which have sold less than 10'000 albums and they have a 'cult' following doesn't make them an expert does it?
