I know people have differing opinions. It's just that in threads like 'Which is your favourite Stone Roses album' (Just an example) Someone doesn't need to post saying they hate the Stone Roses, totally taking the thread off topic and yet again ending an interesting conversation. This is okay in threads where the topic is to discuss whether bands are good or not, but not in a thread designed for fans of a band.

And also what I am writing IS a different opinion.

I agree, but if its a discussion on the band in whole a negative view makes the thread more interesting.

I agree with that. Like I said, I think if it's a thread about whether a band is good or not then obviously a negative view will be totally welcome.
