I blog for a living, and used to be a band vocalist. Well, I don't know if many people are into Japanese pop/rock music here, but I'll stand behind that anyway even if it might be risky. I thought I'd join because I'm usually surrounded with too many people who are into everything Japanese, and wanted to talk to other people about other music I like (which will prolly be considered a wide variety of tastes, from Bjork, Enya and Imogen Heap to MuteMath, Kenna... and Kamelot).
I've seen some people talking in here about games, so here's a little of me on that too: I was a non-gamer until someone shoved a DS Lite into my hands, and since then I bought my own (metallic rose color!) and got addicted to puzzle games since. I also do some RPG and a lot from Atlus (WEWY was nice), and I even have the 100 Classic Books Collection. Heh. So, hi! Please influence me well. ;p

You will probably find people here who are familiar with a fair share of Japanese artists and bands. Melt Banana and Boris get mentioned a fair bit here for a start, and if i took a look through my collection im sure i would be reminded of a few more ive discussed here. Personally most of the Japanese bands ive heard seem to be noise rock bands. You should educate us with anything we may have not heard of.
Anyway, good intro thread and welcome aboard. |
