Hello members of the Music Banter forums. I am Chives and I am very new here. This is my first time on the site, but it seemed like a good music forum and since I'm in need of such a place, I decided to join.

I'm pretty new to music. I started getting into it about a year ago when a friend introduced me to Simon & Garfunkel (not to say I didn't listen to music before, but it was mostly video game and movie soundtracks). It has kind of snowballed from there, with me getting into the Beatles, then into collecting vinyl and all other music formats.

Some of my favorite artists are the Beatles, Public Enemy, and Frank Zappa. Honorable mentions go to Simon & Garfunkel and Sleater-Kinney. I can't really say I listen to everything but I make an effort to round out my listening habits.

Quite frankly, my taste in music is still developing as I find new artists and explore new genres, but I'm at the point where I'd like to hear what other people have to say and I figure there is no better place than a forum! I've looked through a few topics already and I'm already a bit excited to poke around here. Hoping I stick around for a while!

Welcome to the forum, Chives!
You should enjoy yourself here as it sounds like you have a very open attitude, and if you`re going from Simon and Garfunkel to Zappa, you must like a wide range of styles !

It's great to be able to see someone develop his interest in music from the very beginning. Wonder what sorts of music you'll eventually end up liking

Oh wow. I missed all the people posting in this and now I feel bad for not replying!

I'll definitely be sticking around. I haven't been posting a ton but I've had lots of entertainment from reading various threads.
