Smile A belated introduction

Hello MB, I started posting about a week ago so this is a bit late, but I hope to stick around and hopefully contribute a little bit. I'm from Minnesota, I'm 26 and my musical wheelhouse is in heavy metal, punk, crossover, etc. but I also quite like hip-hop, soul, jazz, blues, country and other genres.

See ya all around.

I gravitate towards alternative - Stone Throw, Def Jux, Ninja Tune and Rhymesayers have a lot of my favorite artists. Really like golden age hip-hop and east coast stuff like Native Tongues and EPMD too. Not quite as big a fan of west coast hip-hop, but Ice Cube is an all-time favorite.

I haven't found a brand of punk or metal that I dislike, but I like Bad Brains, The Misfits (Danzig era), Black Flag, Ramones, Death, Slayer. If I have one sub-genre that I really go back to a lot it's probably industrial metal like Godflesh, Ministry, KMFDM, 3TEETH, Pitchshifter, etc... there's a lot of metal that I like.

Also, thanks for the good hearty welcome, fellas. I've already found some good stuff that I wouldn't have found otherwise!

Welcome to MB, Maajo !

Of the eight genres you specifically mention in your OP, I'm right with you on, er, two of them. So I look forward to seeing you around, but perhaps more often in the lounge than in the music sections.
