Niiice.

I really don't understand how someone can watch that and say she isn't talented.

Oh, btw, I used to kinda dislike her...passed her off as just another overhyped pop singer. Then I actually gave one of her albums a listen, lol.

I've never come across anyone seriously denying her talent...just questioning the level of inspiration in the music.

Musically, or lyrically?

I guess musically more than anything else. I've frequently come across people claiming the music is generally innocuous, derivative and unremarkable.

Which is not my view btw, I can't claim to have any fixed opinions on her at present other than that she has a great voice and general musical talent.

I'm going to probably come off like a total close-minded douche here but so be it. I'd heard of her at least about 4-6 months ago, and seen her around with that said too. I hadn't really listened to her music, just noticed that she was really ugly to be honest. Assuming that's her singing then it is good, but I'm with the person who said it's "not their thing". Plus (with last line in mind), the video in itself looks really fake, and she just seems really vapid whenever I see her in videos while she's actually trying to look deep... I get really annoyed by it... Plus there's her name... Amy Winehouse? WTF... All in all, I'm really not interested.

I'm a shallow person, who's more interested in image than content.

I don't mean to offend you in any way, but I really can't understand the reasoning between finding faults in image if the real judgment you're making is based on the music. I don't understand what her physical attractiveness or name has to do with talent so why concern yourself with it?
