Default When you walk over to that Jazz section in the store...

Whenever I do this, I get alot of strange looks. Especially from people my age (20s) who suddenly dismiss me. And people that are older either look at me approvingly, or look at me as if I wandered into the wrong section of the store.

Then I throw em offguard when all of a sudden I'm standing next to them looking at a children of bodem album.

And look even more confused when I sum up my visit while looking at the classical composers.

I just laugh inside, its funny when people judge you like that.

Any similar experiences?

I could'nt care less what other people think of me when i am looking at music. As far as I am concerned 80% of the people instore are idiots anyhow.

Probably not a fair view but so what?

I sometimes get backward looks when I browse through the vinyl section.

If there is one thing I find I can always be guaranteed is that I can always strike up a good conversation with the other people in the jazz section/classical section. Every other section is always packed in the best stores, so I have this nice quiet corner where I can browse for a couple of hours, brooding over whether I should grab some Tord Gustavsen, or go a bit older and hit a new import from the classics or splurge on the overpriced but beautiful works from my favourite artist...

I haven't bought too much recently, but in a few weeks I can be happy in my corner again... Despite the odd looks from those who want a quick exit from the store, and thus cut through the jazz section.

I think people see what they wanna see. If you go in thinking you're really clever by being 'diverse', then you will 'see' people giving you odd looks.

Yeah but how do they know your intentions? They don't, all they can do is make assumptions. Some people actually love the music you know...

Maybe he was astounded that someone would actually pay money for an ICP album.
