Lit sucks (country, Kiss, guitarist, cover, quote)

I have to write a paper on "why my future looks bright" and then present it to the class.

Just a question but why do they always make us do things like that? Why does it always have to be about the bright side? Does the school system want to give us a false sense of hope?

Anyways, why does my future look bright?

Give some crap about how your country is the land of oppurtunity and make it sound as ass-kissing and "patriotic" as you can, you'll get an A+.

Mine is too, but I just don't like the idea of having to write about how great my future looks. I'm 15, I have 3 more years of highschool, and then I'm still not sure what I want to do for a job. Right now my future looks pretty murky.

Lol- that's the kind of thing I really really hate doing.

You could be lead guitarist in a famous band one day, then your future would be bright.

haha...i don't know why(actually i do), this is one of the most hilarious things i've ever heard. it's such a typical essay choice. i don't know how many times that has been a topic during my exams.

wow, you're really looking at this the wrong way. have fun with it. write something about how you're dad is the CEO of a fortune 500 company, and how you discovered some comprimising files on his computer a year ago. After some gentle persuasion, your dad agreed to give you an extremely high paying job right after high school, that doesn't actually require you to have an responsobilities, so your life is set. Make up some rediculously horrible story like that, but make it very well written. as long as the paper itself is well written, the content doesnt matter. You can say anything you want in a lit class as long as you say it well. Thats why I got 96% in high school and actually had fun with it.

I am going to have fun with it. My teacher is extremely conservative and I'm going to talk about the state of America in my last point. And that is ironic, my dad is unemployed and has a termanial illness.

there ya go. turn it around into an incredibly bitter and depressing essay, say you resent the fact that it must be about how "bright" your future is, and how it's just an extension of the knee-jerk reaction af any american in a power position to sweep any negative thoughts under the carpet of society and pretend that everything is perfect, and label anyone who complains as "un-american". go nuts with it, make it really well written, and if she marks you down, start a very heated debate, and be sure to include the rest of the class too. God I wish I was still in high school sometimes. assignments were soooo easy back then. *sigh*

What's funny to me is that I finished this yesterday in 10 minutes and you are still suggesting what I should write about.
