So I'll be 24 this year and I've never had a sip of alcohol in my life. It was something I help highly for a while but the need for unblemished sobriety has passed and I think im going to get on the sauce.

I've asked around about whats best to start, and I've had mixed results. I know alot of your forigners thing our booze sucks, I wouldn't know, but Im hearing from enough people Captain Morgan is quite the drink.

What do you guys suggest? I've always wanted to be a pirate anyhow.

Yeah, I didn't drink because I hated the frat boy mentality that surrounded it when all my friends started drinking. You didn't just drink, you chugged, and you had to do 5 in a row or you were a pussy.

The best part of my abstaining is that it bothered them to no end. It will probably be the longest thing I've ever done consecutivly (though im hoping marrige will dwarf that). Im proud of it, but I don't want the momentum to be what keeps it going.

It had a function and a purpose and its not really serving one any more. I heard beer isn't very fun, it sure smells like ass too.

What ever you do mate, don't mix your vodkas and your rums, beers or bourbans too much, or you'll be chundering all night. Oh and go slow, a body not used to alcohol won't want to get smashed to quickly. It would be like expecting cold muscles to do the 100m in under ten seconds. Somethings gonna give, so take it easy.

Stay well away from sweet drinks like liqueurs or alcopops , because they taste sweeter you`ll knock them back like soft drinks & you`ll be on the floor before you know it.

I`d say go for something like guinness , it`s heavy , it`s got a strong sour flavour and you`ll be aware of every single mouthful you drink.

Oh man Guiness, I'm so aware of that drink I can't even drink it even when I'm all pissed and desensitized to everything. And thats saying something, because when I'm drunk I've been known to describe straight vodka as vanilla, and down it in a flash.
