You lot have valid reasons, I'll admit it, but most of the people that I know that use MySpace only use it to get comments etc. and to generally overly whore out themselves. There are a few exceptions that I know of, like I know someone who is a DJ and he uses the site to promote the club he works for and to schedule dates and find venues etc. But from what I've seen that is the minority.

well i have this second one for the sole purpose of talking to friends that i lost contact with after i deleted my first one
so i sign on for like 2 seconds & then forget about it
my first one however was pretty much the stereotypical myspace users profile
this time around its like the losers myspace profile
so i dont think i really fit that stereotype anymore

MySpace is great tool for music promotion - it's unfortunate that it has become just another website overswarmed by 'emokids'.

Hobo your threads are turning into un-informed bitches about nothing. Sure there are myspace whores and sure they are stupid. But the majority of people on there use it to get in touch with people that they don't call regularly or use some kind of instant messaging with.

I personally always thought that myspace was just for musical promotion. Until i realized from peopel on here it was ment for whoring and trying to find creepy people to flirt with for ones own entertainment. I've been asked to join but I won't because I personally think that place should only be used for music promotion. Even if it were, I would serve nothing there because I'm in a band and I don't record or play music. But it is for people to find creeps and have creepy and normal conversation for the whole world to read, so that add's to my reasoning of never wanting to sign on.

but yea I think places like that are mainly used by steriotypical emokids looking ans seeking creepy attention from others.. They want someone to tell there stories to.. and without realizing there self esteem is so low that before they know it. it went from posting about your interest to adding them on you instint chat where your stripping or being taken advatage of. Sucks because I have big problems with kids that are so low about themselves that they let things like that happen to them. And then conveice themselves that it was ok that they not depressed and don't have low self esteems, and just did it cause it was fun and exciting.

ok, first off, myspace isnt JUST for musical promotion. it started as a promotion site, but lots of companies use it to advertise as well.
second off, myspace isnt full of "emo kids looking for attention", sure, there might be an astounding number of people on myspace who fit that mold, but that ISNT what myspace is all about. its not about meeting "creepy people with to have cyber sex and advertise it to the world" myspace is about keeping in touch with your friends, meeting new ones, and networking. i know just about every single person on my friends list, and not once have i had a "creepy" conversation with any of them, nor have i advertised any of my conversations for the world to see. and people that get raped, etc on myspace are usually 14 year old girls who shouldnt be on myspace in the first place, and are having sexual contact with older men. if you dont use myspace, then you have no right to stereotype people that do and you sure as hell dont know what the **** youre talking about.

maybe if you crawled out of your "boyfriends" ass for two seconds you could realize that.
