Young men and innocent people have always died in wars (until some idiot invented bombs and missiles it used to be less civilian casaulties, admittedly). There have been so many wars, with so many deaths throughout history, that it seems bizarre to just bring up WW2 again and again... because it is probably the only example of a goody (Western Europe and U.S.) vs. baddie (Germany, Italy, Japan etc.) scenario. in which one side was definitely fighting the good fight and the other was definitely just being nasty. Most other wars I can think of just involved young men dying as a result of the selfish directive of their superiors. That's pretty much all war has ever been.

Oh dear.

You seem the sort of person that would glorify war. My grandfather fought in WW2 , he hated every minute of it so much that he never talked about it ever again.He didn`t fight because he wanted to , he fought because he had to. The only time he ever did was when he was telling me that the most scared he had ever been in his life was hiding in a jungle in Burma hearing the Japanese approaching him with flamethrowers.

I think it`s a shame when people have to go through things like that in war they get glorified by idiots like you.

And then people see you using that 'most destuctive force' against people they know and think "I would gladly take up arms to fight dirt bags like that who want to destroy my loved ones well being" and so the cycle continues.

And I'd think "go ahead, pick up arms and go fight against people you've never met before. I don't approve, but then there's not much I can do to stop you either. Not that it matters much. You and they will be the ones ending up dead. Not me."

Any war helps control the human population. Although in this day and age people use it as an excuse to have sex and then we have yet another baby boom.

But for the most part i think wars of any kind are unnecessary and immoral, no matter hwat your goal or beliefs are.

I read a book called All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Romarque . And there was something in there that I'll always remember:
war pits young men (soldiers) against other young men of another colored uniform. Some of them will die to further the need of a politician's (ruler of a nation) goal. Rather than fight the war themselves they will use the youth of their nation to fight battles ebcause they are expendable.

If I choose to be against any war it is for that reason. The thing between Lebanon and Israel, I think is really unnecessary and is backed by a bunch of idiots. I've said it before adn i'll sya it again, Israel should be used to doing battle with the nations surrounding them. In all of the years hat they've been engaged in one war or other you mean to tell me that they haven't learned that there's a better way? I have nothing against Israelis but maybe if a few more die, someone there will wise up.
Maybe they deserve to have their nation destroyed and torn to bits. But who am I to say that that should happen? I'm not god nor any great being of supremem knowledge (that's for sure) but I am almost certain that if the US stopped backing them the nation would definitely crumble and there would be no war right now.
