Thanks, guys! I'm going to try to do a series of animals in this style - vibrant colors and hints of skeletal structures. I'm much more comfortable with oil paint and charcoal - I've avoided watercolor forever. Oils are much more forgiving imo. But I've always loved the aesthetic of watercolor, especially in portraits, so I'm hoping to work toward being able to do that.

I really haven't done any research, I'm not sure which brushes are best to use. I know it's really important to keep your water clean but other than that I'm just kind of doing a trial and error thing, which I guess is best when it comes to art. I royally ****ed up a landscape earlier today, muddied the thing to hell. Any other insights are much appreciated.

Love the idea of showing a little bit of skeletal structure.

I like skeletal things.

I took a Color Theory class in college and all we did was water color, I might still have my brushes lying around. I'll see if I can find the sizes/type for ya.

What kind are you using? I think we used this paint (it's been 3+ years): Savoir Faire Opaque Watercolor Set

I am by no means artistic and it was my first time ever using this kind of paint. I found it very easy to mix and get nice color gradients. Michaels has more expensive stuff that may be better for you but I wasn't willing to spend the doe, we did A LOT of projects and I wasted paint like a maniac.

My bf wanted an elephant. I'm not entirely pleased with this one but I feel like I learned a lot doing it, and I'll likely do the same image again and try not to go so dark.

I love it doll^.It actually makes me feel some intense feelings, and that's pretty rare for photography for me I enjoy it dont get me wrong, but it doesn't speak me the way paintings,or drawings do. You feel me?

Thanks! I saw it when I woke up and the angles struck me, then the photo came out darker than irl and improved it IMO. I don't feel the same way as you do on photography, I find it to be just as or even more striking because it's real, but I get where you're coming from. I'm thinking about using it for an album cover.

Very eerie. I love black and white photography, and that is a cool pic.
