There's a lot of generalising going on in this thread.

I was born in a housing estate so naturally i'm an uneducated chav who goes around vandalising , burgling & causing trouble.

I generally like everyone, so I don't pay too much attention to where they live. I just think the term "planned community" sounds odd, and even though I don't care for stereotypes, I will say that most of the people there think and act alike. It's not necessarily bad, but it is bland at times.

I prefer living in areas where there are many ethnic groups around. That way I have easy access to all the ethnic food I want! Mexican food one day, Italian the next, Thai and Indian and Chinese...mmmmm..... Oh yeah, and the culture is good too.
